Being at 6th semester of the major, this is when they tell you being an Engineer is ok, but you can be better, because the past 5 semesters were about learn how to be an employee on any good company, which is also nice, so this is how you can enter in the world of business and become the leader on your company you always want to achieve. When I was doing some research for this entry, many acronyms come up, so I have either google them or they were explicit explained, this remind of how difficult can be to run a tech company in which many leader boards or persons who make depositions don’t know shit about this, so this is when the KA come up, (knowledge area), telling us how useful can be someone making the designations even better if you understand what you are building and how.
Economics explain the value of things, and their resources and capabilities. So when it comes to make designations on your software development it may be difficult to have an intermediary who translates all the technicalities for the superior.
Elon Musk is a perfect example of how an engineer is even better when it comes to run a tech company. on the Elon Musk’s book, ‘Quest for a fantastic future’ we realize the things he have achieve just for being an engineer who understand business management, of course he’s not alone, he must have people who advisor his direction.
Even in his company they have to have many acronyms for local issues or objects that can be related with his business, they explain it to you on the first chapters.
In conclusion is nice to see some subjects who can be related on our own possible future businesses and not just think as employees al the time, there is a good documentary about Bill Gates that can be related to this managements stuff (Inside Bill’s Brain, 2019, Netflix), this fun to watch documentary series relates how Bill confronts the real world and their problems and how he have been trying to solve them since the beginning.
